6 Tips For Recovering After A Medical Abortion

#4 Use Pads

You are going to experience bleeding after your medical abortion and you may even get your period. Do not use tampons. Tampons can cause you to get an infection. Stick to sanitary pads and napkins while you are recovering. You should also document how many pads you go through to make sure that your bleeding is not out of control.

#5 Don't Exercise

It is generally best to avoid exercise for the two weeks following a medical abortion. You need to give your body some time to heal. Engaging in exercise can cause you to bleed more. If you want to keep the bleeding under control following a medical abortion, you are going to want to avoid physically demanding activities and also limit exercises that you usually participate in.

#6 Avoid Sex

You should not engage in sex that includes vaginal penetration for the two weeks after your abortion. Staying away from vaginal penetration will help ensure that you don't get an infection. If you decide to engage in sex, make sure that you are using contraceptives as you don't want to get pregnant immediately following an abortion.
